(NewsNation) — Vice President Kamala Harris held a holiday brunch for friends, family and supporters last Sunday before the Kennedy Center honors but the only thing people could talk about was, “Where’s Joe?”
Kamala Harris hosts brunch, but ‘where’s Joe?’
The annual party was held at the VP’s home in Washington D.C., the Naval Observatory, complete with red velvet ropes separating the VP from the invited hoi polloi, and she gamely took pictures with the fawning crowds — but deflected any questions about the president.
”The Biden’s weren’t there — I don’t think they were even invited,” one source said.
At the event, Harris offered the crowd her usual word salad, including tidbits like: “Try and get some good food on the table, you know and you go to other’ people’s house and they don’t cook so well bring your own dish, do what you gotta do to take care of yourself,” and “‘You answered a calling to serve in so many ways, so in this season it is very important to make first room for you, for us that we celebrate each other, that we celebrate our work that has had and will continue to have meaning, ours has been the work that is intentional about building community, ours has been the work that has been intentional about building coalitions.”

Biden, Harris relationship icy since election: Source
Relations between POTUS and the VP have been decidedly icy since Biden was forced to not run again in the 2024 election, with sources saying Jill Biden in particular “can hold a hell of a grudge.”
Later that evening both couples showed up at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts which honored Bonnie Raitt, Francis Ford Coppola and the Grateful Dead (among others)… and the chill was palpable. According to videos from the event, Jill and Joe Biden refused to acknowledge Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff, despite being sat right next to each other.
Reps for POTUS and the VP didn’t return calls or emails.
