What has Project 2025 said since Trump’s win?

(NewsNation) — The key figure behind Project 2025, a controversial conservative presidential blueprint, congratulated Donald Trump on his election victory.

“We look forward to this historic term, during which President Trump has an opportunity to make America great, healthy, safe, and prosperous once again,” said Kevin Roberts, president of The Heritage Foundation, in an online statement on Election Day.

Project 2025 is a nearly 1,000-page handbook from conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation, and the authors refer to it as a guide on what the next president needs to do to undo the “damage” to America they claim has been caused by liberal politicians.

How Project 2025’s rightward vision became a flashpoint in this year’s election

It acts as a manual for the next Republican president, detailing ways to reshape and give the executive branch more power.

“The entire conservative movement stands united behind him,” Roberts said.

Many of Trump’s former aides have authored parts of the document, although Trump said during his campaign that he did not know about it.

The Heritage Foundation has issued six statements on Trump’s nominations for his second administration.

“The creation of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is a welcome and long-overdue step toward addressing government waste and restoring fiscal discipline to the federal budget,” said David Ditch, senior policy analyst at The Heritage Foundation, in a news release Wednesday.

Trump appointed tech entrepreneurs and billionaires Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to head the inaugural Department of Energy.

The organization also praised Trump’s appointments of Tom Homan as “Border Czar,” news anchor Pete Hegseth as defense secretary, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio as secretary of state, and former national intelligence director John Ratcliffe as CIA chief.

Pete Hegseth is a tremendous choice for Secretary of Defense,” Roberts said in a post on X, which was paired with a picture of a Jerusalem Cross.

The Heritage Foundation also praised the selection of former presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the secretary of Human and Health Services.

“This nomination sends a clear message to our failed public health establishment: Americans are sick and tired of being sick and tired,” Roberts said in a news release Thursday. “Under President Trump and Secretary Kennedy, those Americans will be in control of their health, not the commissars of three-letter health agencies.”
