Bill O’Reilly: Trump wants approval of people who hate him
(NewsNation) — Bill O’Reilly says President-elect Donald Trump desperately “wants the approval of the American people … even those who hate him.”
At the same time, Trump is “not interested” in sitting down with Republicans to create legislation, according to O’Reilly.
“He’ll tell Vance, or whoever he appoints. … But Trump himself? No way. He’d be bored to tears,” O’Reilly said on “CUOMO.” “Trump is essentially what he was before he got into politics. He wants to make great deals, build giant towers in the sky.”
Journalist Stephen A. Smith pressed O’Reilly, asking why Trump wants to be liked by all “if he has complete autonomy, where he doesn’t have to deal with the other side at all.”
O’Reilly responded, saying Trump “wants to go down in history as one of the Titans.”
“He wants to achieve so-called great things,” O’Reilly said. “There has never been a presidential candidate, or a president, that’s worked harder than that man.”
Trump will win Pennsylvania and thus the presidency for a second time, NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ projected early Wednesday morning. Speaking to supporters at around 1:30 a.m. CT Wednesday, Trump said, “This was a movement like nobody’s ever seen before.”
