Harris, Walz to do several high-profile interviews this week

(NewsNation) — Often criticized for avoiding journalists since becoming the Democratic presidential nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris will be on TV, radio and online this week as she sits down for several high-profile interviews.

The multi-media blitz begins Sunday with the release of Harris’ conversation with Alex Cooper on her podcast “Call Her Daddy.” The Harris campaign said the show boasts a following of more than 2.4 million on Instagram and more than 3.9 million on TikTok.

A senior Harris campaign official tells NewsNation that the conversation focuses on reproductive freedom, abortion access and other issues critical to women.

Harris will appear Monday night on “60 Minutes.” The interview with CBS Correspondent Bill Whitaker was conducted on Saturday.

Harris will have a very busy Tuesday in New York, as she will be on ABC’s “The View,” Howard Stern’s SiriusXM radio show and “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

She then heads west for appearances in Las Vegas, including a Thursday town hall produced by Univision. Harris concludes the week with a visit to Arizona, where early voting is already underway.

Vice presidential nominee Tim Walz will also face the cameras, starting with a Sunday appearance on “Fox News Sunday” – his first Sunday interview show appearance since becoming Harris’ running mate.

He then makes his late-night talk show debut Monday in Los Angeles on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” Walz also sat for a “60 Minutes” interview, which will air on Monday.

Walz is scheduled to conduct interviews with local reporters during stops in Nevada and Arizona on Tuesday and Wednesday.
