Trump rips Walz, CBS moderators in debate’s opening 15 minutes

Former President Trump criticized the moderators and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) within the first 15 minutes of the vice presidential debate, calling him “obviously not very bright.”

“Walz is taking so many notes – Never seen a Candidate take more! He needs the notes to keep his brain intact,” Trump wrote in post on his Truth Social platform

“He’s been indoctrinated with LIES, thinking he can override his own INCOMPETENCE. He’s as nervous as you can get!” Trump wrote in another post.

The Republican presidential nominee also went after CBS journalists Norah O’Donnell and Margaret Brennan, the debate moderators, calling them “extremely biased Anchors.” He further accused Brennan of incorrectly fact-checking his vice presidential pick.

Meanwhile, Trump called his running mate, Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), “steady and strong.”

Vance and Walz are participating in their first, and likely only, vice presidential debate. The debate is being hosted by CBS News in New York City.

From nearly the beginning of the debate, Walz attacked Trump, saying during a response on a question related to Iran and a preemptive strike, “a nearly 80-year-old Donald Trump talking about crowd sizes is not what we need in this moment.”

“But it’s not just that. It’s those that were closest to Donald Trump that understand how dangerous he is,” Walz continued.

Trump also criticized the ABC News moderators following his debate against Vice President Harris last month and has suggested he won’t participate in another debate due to alleged moderator bias.
